Matt could barely manage his media promotions business but because he's an internet marketing genius and a bootstrapper to the core, he does it anyway. This blog was a journal of his small business, but then it moved to http://smallbusinesspromotion.info

Ganelle Djarlo, You didn't pay me half of anything, otherwise I wouldn't be singling you out.

You only got half the CD's because you gave me half of nothing. You "finally found them" because you never provided instructions for their delivery, you knew I was waiting to be paid and it was by then obvious you wouldn't, and I thought it would be a waste to just throw the CD's in the trash, and I wasn't drunk, we had arranged to meet for sex - I don't really drink at all.

Don't think I didn't recognise you as an older, naive dilettante, named Ganelle Djarlo leading a possibly even more naive group of much younger, operative phrase being "young", guys in their first band, Cyanide City.

I find it extremely interesting that suddenly you are now on the defensive and feel the need to criticize the standard of the service you received when after the two gigs, when we spoke on the phone, and by email that I still have you promised me the money was coming and that you would be in touch to confirm it had been paid.

Might I also draw readers attention to the fact that you appeared to be satisfied enough with the CD's and the posters from the first gig to then go ahead and order a second run.

So you are saying their are likely to be other people in New Zealand searching for your name "Ganelle Djarlo" and Gstar Music that you may owe money to?

I would love to see your proof, because I have your emails here promising payment was forthcoming, and if you don't remember it, I certainly remember the phone conversation you had with me telling me your 9 year old son was ill and you would have to defer payment. You had a son that was 9 at the time, correct?

Ganelle Djarlo, I don't hold it against you, you're just a naive older woman and mother who should have known better then to dabble out of your league, the music business isn't for the foolhardy.

You, a woman and a mother knocking on 40 should not be bitter about the decisions made by a bunch of boys barely out of their teens in reaction to the situation you led them into. That just shows your lack of business experience.

If there was any point in entering into a discussion about the quality of the discs I would be happy to do so, there were obviously mitigating circumstances that you have failed to account for, but at the end of they day the professional thing would have been for you to address the grievance at the time, rather than promising me payment weeks after the job was completed.

And in regards to the black plastic bag - you didn't pay for delivery or packaging, nor did you specify it as a particular - I'm surprised to see that a plastic bag was unsuitable for the purpose of carrying the CD's from our business to the venue.

Ganelle Djarlo, you are truly an amateur and a dilettante. Those such as I who, now after the struggles detailed on this blog, provided by unprofessional operators such as yourself, is finding growing success by the day, understand that the likes of you are just part of our trials to rise above the spineless and mediocre pretenders such as yourself.

Yours are the bones of the fallen and failed rotting under my feet as I march ever on toward success.

I don't want to hear of you again or you will find out just what type of internet marketing genius I am, you don't even have a professional website; this article could easily be ranking #1 in google for your name Ganelle Djarlo with very little effort on my part, thus making it very hard to cover your tracks on this one.

Especially the more I mention the words "Ganelle Djarlo".

I've made mistakes and I've paid for them, that's what's got me to where i am. You are like so many who just try to run away, when someone who is truly strong enough in character for this business would have faced up.

Also.. this Matt guy is NOT an internet genius. He wanted us to pay him over $300 for a myspace promotion that my 17 year old son knows how to do from a program he and his friends found on the internet. Matt duplicated our CDs onto cheap discs you can pick up at your local Kmart, and he labeled them with ink that was fading and some labels were placed incorrectly on the CDs. My children could have done a better job from home. Also..as stated earlier. He delivered our CDs a half hour before the CD release gig, so we did not have time to look at what an amateur job he did..and.. he delivered them in a plastic black bag that you get when you buy alcohol from the liquor store! This guys is far from a genius. Buyer beware!

I wasn't going to reply to this because I didn't want to give you the pleasure, but because you have "tagged" my name, something does need to be said...

I paid you half of the price you quoted me because you only did half the work you promised to do. You only gave us half of the CDs for the CD release party and you delivered those a half hour before the gig in a black plastic liquor bag. We finally found the other half of the CDs when you went home drunk with one of the friends of one of the band member's girlfriends many months later. You gave her the rest of the CDs but unfortunately, we never received them. Also, you agreed to place a promo poster outside the venue of the release party one week prior to the gig. You did not deliver that poster until the Wednesday before the Friday night gig and you did not place posters in all the spots in Auckland that you promised you would. We drove around and checked and they were not posted at all the places you said they would be. So.. you were paid half of the original price quote because you did half the job.

It's easy to sit on here and tag someone's name but you should be careful what you say and make sure it's the truth or you could say the wrong thing about the wrong person and get sued for slander or defamation of character.

And to "Joel" who says I suck cock, managed Cyanide City, dirty tramp, and I need to be shot.. you don't know me and you are wrong about everything you say about me in your quote.

As far as Cyanide City goes..I put over $20,000 US dollars into the band Cyanide City and brought them over to America where they were housed, fed, and transported and played shows from Florida to California. I payed for their plane tickets and my parents even sponsorsed two of the band members visas to be in America. Cyanide City did not have to do anything except promote themselves and play the gigs that were scheduled for them. They chose to go off on their own for the last month that they were in America (please note that they were also supported to be here for 3 months and I was working on their Visas to stay longer because I was able to get them on the Van's Warped Tour) .. I let them go on their own because I trusted them.. and they burned me by not contacting me and playing gigs in Texas and taking all the money for the gigs and then leaving and going back to New Zealand without informing me. I have not made a dime back from the money I have put into Cyanide City. If they are mad at me it is because they came back to New Zealand as failures when they know deep down inside the opportunities they had.

And.. if there is anyone in NZ that thinks I owe them like this KURB promo guy.. then I suggest you get the money from the band members of Cyanide City because they have over $20,000 US dollars of mine invested in them.. which leaves me just about nothing to pay anyone.

And.. for everyone making comments and tagging my name.. Here is something that makes us different.. I have PROOF of everything I say and write and I suggest you have the same before you try to ruin someone's character and say things that aren't entirely true.

I can hold my head up high for what I have done and anyone who would like to know more about this KURB promo guy, this situation, Cyanide City, etc.. you are welcome to email me at gstar13@gmail.com.

And..I will not be checking back on this page because I do not care about this loser or what he has to say. Must be nice to have time to sit around and cry about people who hurt his feelings.. I, unfortunately, have to make thousands of dollars back that I put into people I trusted and believed in..and I can't really cry about real money for real work that I really did..

WHATEVER...

Well I'm no expert, but I know what works and I charge accordingly, which is not a lot!

I think the whole thing is if you're a small business and you're not in a highly tech influenced industry SEO is something that you have to learn and develop yourself bevause its - as you say - hard to find people to trust to create ROI with this stuff.

Cool post. If you are a newbie or know nothing about SEO, why not. But the one you should hire should be the expert who delivers and not pretending to be one.
